Lou Gehrig: One of Baseball's Greatests by Guernsey Van Riper Jr.
921 GEH
Lou Gehrig: One of Baseball's Greatests tells the story of Lou Gehrig's life.  He has a problem as a little kid. All of his friends make fun of him because he can’t hit one single baseball when he plays. When he got older he became a major league baseball player because he was one of the best! When he was playing he got some sort of a sickness and they called it the Lou Gehrig disease. In the book it did not explain his disease (oh well). If you like books about baseball you might like this biography. I recommend this story because if someone is not good at baseball you can get better if you practice enough. It tells you if someone makes fun of you just ignore them if you’re not that good. Also it is good to see how Lou Gehrig’s life was like. This is a very good book, I give it stars.

The Life You Imagine is an awesome story about Derek Jeter’s life in Detroit. He had a mother that was white and his father was black. They helped him throughout his life. Derek always got teased because of his parent’s race. When he got older he overcame that and joined a travel baseball team and got drafted by the Major League Baseball (MLB).
